She's covered sports for many of the top publications around the world. She covered football, basketball and Grand Slam Tennis for The Washington Post. In 2004 Nichols moved on to ESPN for a nine-year run in which she earned two Emmy Awards and appeared on several of the network's top frequented shows such as SportsCenter as well as NFL Countdown. Also, she was a one of the networks' Monday Night Football broadcasts as an on-line reporter. After that, she was transferred into CNN sports and then Turner. Unguarded: Rachel Nichols hosted her own show on CNN International. This show attracted over one billion viewers across all over the globe. Nichols worked at TNT as a broadcaster who reported on NBA games that included playoffs, regular season and All Star television broadcasts. She also reported for TBS reporting on golf and baseball broadcasts, and Final Four broadcasts on CBS. It was only the 2nd time in its 42-year history that women were selected from more than 200 nominations.
